Use this meet the social worker or meet the counselor lesson and activity to help students understand your role in a different and interactive way! Start with a short, editable PowerPoint about you and what the social worker or counselor does, then test student knowledge with a hunt around the school, classroom, or office. Students will visit and answer 7 cards with corresponding answers and clues. Wrap up with a review and discussion, then allow students to complete an exit ticket. An editable PowerPoint has been included to edit the locations of cards if needed, which are outside the lunchroom, main office, recess doors, gym, social worker or counselor’s office, art room, and library. This resource is perfect for a back-to-school counseling activity or when working with a new student. Use individually, in a group, or as a classroom lesson. Downloading the free fonts KG Neatly Printed and KG Drops of Jupiter are recommended to keep the format of each editable PowerPoint file (steps and links in directions), but you can also use your own. General knowledge of PowerPoint required.
